Wii Fit!

Just picked mine up today. Gotta love Nintendo’s innovation eh? You Xboxers and PS3ers can have your gun-thumbs; I’m going to start training for the Auckland Half Marathon in my lounge!

(and, no, that’s not me with the bowl haircut although I once sported a monstrosity similar to that but that was the 70s and it was, like, far out and almost choice)

My partner and I have been thinking about getting one of these - I look forward to hearing your reviews before we do lol!

(Oh and believe it or not akismet replied to my email and supposedly I can post again without it being spam lol)

You probably already know this but just in case you don’t; you have to get the Wii console first. It’s a lot of fun in its own right and comes standard with Wii Sports which has tennis, boxing, bowling, golf and baseball. We also bought Big Brain Academy (which we’ve also got a lot of use out of) and Mario Galaxy (which is more of a 1-player game).

Wii Fit is just another game but comes with the balance board and is more expensive that normal games.

There was a time when I’d have been much more into the other consoles and the types of games that go with them but I’m at a stage where the Wii is perfect, light-hearted and sociable entertainment that doesn’t turn you into a coke-drinking, chip-eating and soap-avoiding vampire.

(Do I get my commission now Nintendo?)

The 70’s!!? My gosh, for some reason I’d always thought you were around my age.

I hope that comes across as a compliment!

Fella, I was wearing brown corduroys, orange skivvies and sandals all through the 70s. (In Titahi Bay, you might be interested to learn).

Wow! I hear it was quite a happening spot back then, before they made a slight miscalculation on the sewerage/water ratio at the local beach.

  6. Damian Says:

Heh, tell me about it; I used to surf in the stuff (when I wasn’t in bed sick from ingesting other people’s shit, that is).

I take it from the little you’ve mentioned of your stint there you didn’t really enjoy it all that much?

  7. Rhett Says:

Not particularly :-). It was an experience though, valueable in it’s own way. Kinda like going to gym. I don’t enjoy that either.

I liked going into Wellington city though, which is a much nicer inner city than Auckland. Places like Oriental Bay were nice. But it has to be said my not enjoying it was kinda combined with the fact that for half of it I was missing my wife, and in Tawa (Where I was staying) there wasn’t a lot to do.
